Vest fits perfectly! I used a medium size for my Shih Tzu and my 20 lb English Labrador pup. Although I intentionally bought this coat for my adult Shih Tzu (12 lb show dogs), I was able to tuck my new Labrador puppy into it in the frigid winter temperatures we were experiencing. We walk 2-4 hours a day and with the extreme cold we had last month January to early February 2019 this coat came in handy for my labrador puppy in arctic weather as well as for quick trips to the potty with my Shih Tzu! The Shih Tzu's coat is full length, so they have to wear some kind of coat over their coat every time they go out in the snow! I have others, with long sleeves (legs), full coverage, and very warm coats for our long outings, they worked SO well for quick potty rides! was an added bonus! I loved this coat so much I bought 1 of each size when I saw they were discontinued! :( FINALLY a coat that fits really well, looks cute and functional and has leaked. ui!
