A nuisance to install/open but works

We installed this screen on a kitchen door frame that is only 74cm wide and it works great. Need 2 expansions that come with it. For now we're just using tension to hold it in place. As our daughter gets stronger we may consider drilling a seat holder for added security. Our girl couldn't open this and keeps her completely away from the kitchen, saving us a lot of trouble installing safety measures in the kitchen. The instructions for this gate were pretty basic, but we also watched a video on how to install it properly for safety reasons. The gate was inconvenient to install by yourself as you have to tighten the bottom right and left corners at the same time. and then top right and left to get the right amount of pressure on the tension. Or you could do one and then the other gradually. time, but it took too long. When done correctly, the gate must be strong, stable and straight. As instructed in the instructions, the gate will be supported open and unevenly until you achieve the correct frame tension. We had no problems with that. After completion it works great. You can open the door and it stays in place on both sides. There is a twist lock on the top that locks it in place for added security. Door width 17 inches, gate height 29 inches. I'm 5'7", medium height with short legs and my husband is 6'1" with a heavy build and we both get by just fine. the bottom of the lock, which you need to pull back with your index finger and at the same time lift the door to open the door. I got away with this by slacking off the tension on the top to move it slightly away from the lock so I don't have to pull as hard, but it's not as secure either because your child can open the door more easily. unless you twist the mechanism to lock it completely. We're getting away with this at the moment as our daughter only crawls/stands and uses a rollator but she doesn't have the strength to open it yet.
