I have a 60 gallon tank so this heater should do the trick for him. I've been using them for several months now. The temperature is solid. It's a cozy summer time. The water temperature is well kept at 82 degrees for my flowerhorn fish and she is happy. But in those few days, the outside temperature dropped to 40 degrees in the morning and the inside temperature dropped to 60 degrees at night. The water is now held consistently at around 77-78 degrees, no matter how I turn the temp dial, the heater should turn off at around 78 degrees. With a certain change in temperature, my Florn is no longer happy and has not eaten for a few days.
