I didn't buy this cage for reptiles so can't comment on adhesion or temperature control. I bought this to use on a red worm box that will be under cover all winter. I just put a plastic garbage bag on the ground and then put a heating mat over it. It heats up enough for the worms to move in and warm up, or move away if it gets too hot. My giant worm box sits in my shed with a plastic lid and a blanket over it. So far I haven't noticed any slowdown in activity and have actually been feeding more frequently. It would be great to have all this vermicompost this spring when I start my garden and when the worms don't need it anymore I can use it as a mat to grow my seeds. Great product at a good price.
