I strongly suspect most one star reviews claim the keys don't fit at all, they just ordered the wrong ones. There are literally dozens of them, and they do NOT vary by model or year. You must physically look and match what is on your particular vehicle. You can find charts online. I highly recommend taking photos of what is on your car and comparing carefully. If you do this and order correctly, it will fit. I've only used it to pop out and replaced the locking tabs with regular hexes on a used car that didn't have a wrench in the toolbox, but after that it showed no signs of wear. I probably wouldn't try to influence it and I wouldn't trust it if I used it ALL, but I wouldn't trust OE either. There just isn't a lot of metal in those raised ridges, no matter how hard you pull on them.
