Suitable, but not deep enough

The pattern is correct and slides over the nut, but the grooves in the key are not long enough to create a strong enough contact point to unscrew the lug. The key crashes every time. look elsewhere

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Updates

Broke as soon as I tried to turn the nut.

Teeth not deep enough to fully engage nut before removal. They ask about possible headaches when ordering this part. Try to find a real VW key, or see if you can borrow one from your local tire shop, but I would avoid that.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Compatibility

Not strong enough. best in Nuts & Accessories

Very easy bit removal. Not really the products fault as this is a crappy design from VW. But I took off two of these babies trying to get 4 bolts out of my GTI. It's best to use a good punch, because a crowbar is guaranteed to get you naked. Throw those screws in the damn trash and buy better ones.

Pros
  • great product
Cons

Not as durable as OEM

I lost my factory wheel lock last fall. I've since tried 3 of these replacement wheel lock keys with minimal success. In fact, the metal inside the key that forms the pattern of the lock seems too soft. With hand tools I can remove a wheel lock with a key. When I get to the other wheel, it turns out that the metal has warped due to the loosening of the locking lug and the key no longer grips the lug. I wouldn't risk trusting this wrench to replace a flat tire.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Gotchas

Center hole needs to be deeper

I bought one of these to remove the lock nuts on a 2010 Jetta. I bought a used car and the previous owner lost the key. This part fit and I was able to remove the front nuts from the car, but the rear bolts were tighter than the front. The middle notch isn't deep enough so the "fingers" don't sit all the way down making it prone to stripping, which is what happened. While I was happy to find a wrench to remove these studs, I had to buy two from the USSR if that was a design flaw.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Poor quality, single use. One TEMO key is required for each screw.

TLDR: Buy one tool (TEMO wheel lock wrench) per bolt. The black key material is too soft and will scratch or peel off when used. I used this #530 wrench to remove the security bolts on my GTI. I was able to unscrew a loose screw without any problems, after the second (with normal torque) the "teeth" were deformed and lost their grip. The tool is now useless as it comes out of the bolt every time. Avoid this tool and use one of the other companies that make high quality specialty wheel lock…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Choose the pattern on the ears visually and carefully.

I strongly suspect most one star reviews claim the keys don't fit at all, they just ordered the wrong ones. There are literally dozens of them, and they do NOT vary by model or year. You must physically look and match what is on your particular vehicle. You can find charts online. I highly recommend taking photos of what is on your car and comparing carefully. If you do this and order correctly, it will fit. I've only used it to pop out and replaced the locking tabs with regular hexes on a used

  • Best in Niche
