I bought two of these to have home automation for my Christmas lights. The first is easy to set up, but the second has problems. I finally set it up and was able to turn it on and off with my phone, haven't set up Alexa yet because I just wanted it to be on schedule. The first round schedule wasn't working so I checked for updates and they were. updated. They worked fine during the testing period, but again the schedule I set didn't work. I ended up giving them back and going to Lowes where I found an old school surebet timer that works much better than this one that is said to be intelligent. Overall I would not recommend this. This is wrong. You can either follow my path or find a better smart plug.
