DESTRUCTIVE PIECE OF JUNK

No matter what I did, this thing didn't work. It connected to Wi-Fi and the app recognized it, but kept falling out of setup mode when naming outlets. The app is in the latest update, have tried two different phones and both my wifi networks. this is a joke If I didn't want my money back it would be really nice to smash it to bits after all the wasted time.

  • Best
Cons
  • Crumpled

Works great, no hub required.

I bought this for landscape lighting. I wired it up and then wired the front and tail lights to it. I downloaded the app and connected to wifi and everything is fine. I can connect the front and back separately and set a schedule for auto on/off for both or both together. This is a great and inexpensive way to replace manual timers with home automation options.

  • Amazing

The app is a bit clunky

The app is clunky, it was designed with too much focus on looks and not enough on what the app is supposed to do. to name and create two different schedules and add about 5 page images to them with the "Next" button. It also allows you to hide the desired state of the sockets under another button. It should be a page where everything is optional. Give me an on and off time to set and the ability to add more times to the list. It's not rocket science, and even if it were, function is always more

Works great once fully connected, but this is an application.

The external design of the GE Lighting Cync Outdoor smart socket is excellent. Easy to install, works great. And once the system is up and running with the app and Alexa, it delivers what it promises. But, oh, get there. What a problem! Just creating an account, then linking it to the Alexa app, naming each outlet, etc. was a hassle. But again, the cursing stopped once it was all done. The device has a remote connection and works flawlessly, turning the porch fan and porch lights on and off…

Doesn't play well with non-friends.

I ended up returning this item. Before I say why I say I felt it was well made and I'm sure it will do the job. However, I have many smart home devices, so I use a universal app called Smart Life. I use this because I don't want to have 5 or 6 different apps to manage all my devices. This product only integrates with its own proprietary application. I have confirmed this with their tech support. Now he says it will be with Google Home or Alexa, but you'll need to download and set up their app…

  • Good item

Not good for electrics

I bought two of these to have home automation for my Christmas lights. The first is easy to set up, but the second has problems. I finally set it up and was able to turn it on and off with my phone, haven't set up Alexa yet because I just wanted it to be on schedule. The first round schedule wasn't working so I checked for updates and they were. updated. They worked fine during the testing period, but again the schedule I set didn't work. I ended up giving them back and going to Lowes where I…

Great addition to our smart home

Already have 2 Cync switches and they work great. Was looking for an option for our outdoor lighting as our manual timer shuts off every time the power goes out. Decided to give it a try and got exactly what I expected. Mounted with the supplied screw, plugged in and the sync app recognized it straight away. Plugged in, plugs and individual switches named and my Alexa app found it immediately. It controlled my outdoor lights in about 15 minutes from box opening to completion. It took me longer…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No automation

That's a big mistake.

This has got to be the biggest waste of money this year! I have an unnamed 4-pin connector that works much better and is half the price. It looks beautiful and seems to be beautiful, but first of all it is not very small and compact like in the photos. Not so hot what's up. It worked for a minute with an app that has a 2 star rating, but then consistently fails to find it! Restart app and still not found. Disconnect and reconnect your device and it works! ONCE! Then you start over. So…
