Bought for a dining room chandelier, replacing non-LED bulbs. I've been waiting for a major manufacturer to make a 40W equivalent with matte dimming and a flame tip, and I've trusted GE. I ordered 8 bulbs and they all dimmed well (similar to the non-LED bulbs I replaced). One of their features is that each bulb has a removable clear plastic ring that slides along the top filament between the filament and the bulb. If your bulb's threads are partially exposed after screwing it in, you can leave the ring on to be safe. If you have doubts about reliability, this should help you. They do cost a bit more, but it's worth it.
