Review on Satechi 4 Port USB C Hub Compatible by Megan Hanson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works with USB-C power adapter and sidecar adapter for iPad Pro.

I would try a USB -Finding Hub -C with 4 USB-C ports and making it work with what I need. Well, this hub does the trick, and the cost isn't nearly as high as more expensive hubs that can't deliver the performance. I've used an OWC Thunderbolt hub and it works great, but it's too big and bulky to carry around all the time. I needed a way to expand the two lame USB-C ports on my M1 Macbook Pro and support some (most) of the functionality that an OWC hub gives me. My priorities were: 1. Additional USB-C ports. 2. Being able to connect to my iPad via USB instead of wirelessly. 3. Work with the USB-C/Ethernet adapter. 4. Keep costs under $75. This hub gave me all of that, including the cost of an ethernet adapter, I got what I wanted for less than fifty dollars. Yes, it might not be the fastest file transfer, it can't charge by itself, and you can't connect a monitor to it (well, you can, but it won't work). It does meet my needs though and as a bonus it charges my iPad while I use it as a second screen. I now have far less clutter at work and four pounds less weight to carry around without sacrificing functionality. I would call it a great bang for the buck.

Pros
  • PLUG & PLAY - Includes plug-and-play design for ease of use - just plug in your USB-C data devices or peripherals for a quick connection with no additional installation required
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...
