With 3 skins (2 cat brothers - 1 big dog) and one parent. Symptoms or illnesses, even injuries, are always a concern. One of my cats started going out of the litter box after 5 years (and shared a litter box with his brother). He did it once, about a year ago, but it was a one-time thing and I wasn't even sure what kind of cat it was. This time it was clear that we had problems. I had my vet do more testing than he even thought necessary - I wanted to know why, and going on a "vet nutritional diet" not only wasn't a financial option, it didn't have a choice of taste, texture, or anything. and who wants to eat the same thing every day? Very few crystals were found, so small he didn't think it should have been a problem (but it was). I scolded the vet for not knowing "what to do and how to make him comfortable" while I washed and ruined the blankets every day for a week or two. Finally, after a second urinalysis, I asked: after seeing that they hadn't shrunk and left him, and I demanded that something be done, the new vet finally told me to find cranberry powder (go here it just about PH what everyone says). I go to Chewy.com to supply my pets but they only sell chews and I couldn't get my cat to eat chews so I went to Revane and this clerk (who rushed me while she had a bad cold – wonderful saleswoman) and in the last few weeks that he has been there, it has taken a complete turn. No more unusual occurrences, no strong smell of urine and his demeanor is much more playful and jovial, and that was only a few weeks ago. It absolutely works! I am amazed and relieved! He will have another urinalysis next week, this will be around 4 weeks after using Solid Gold and I'm sure the results will be much better (I'll see if they aren't). Flavor-wise, it's a berry, which my cat doesn't seem to mind at all, although I mix it very well with his wet food, so it probably just adds a bit of fruit flavor to the meat or fish flavor he's getting... and he eats everything. I'm excited for the next urinalysis results (and so is my wallet! - although of course his health comes first). Coming from a family that has had cats for decades, I still believe that anyone who has a cat should use this dietary supplement not only to ensure proper PH levels but also for education to prevent crystals. Over the years we have had a number of patients who have experienced discomfort and required painful surgery or catheterisation. This product stops the cause, so it stops symptoms, behavior and suffering. I think every vet should sell this product or at least strongly recommend it as an immediate first try when PH is off, UTIs or crystals are showing.
