Review on Motorcycle Waterproof Speaker Amplifier System by Chris Cooper

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great for the price!

Installed this radio on a 2002 Honda Shadow Ace. I had to use spacers on the speakers to fit the handlebars. The item itself is very nice. My buddy just bought a SHARK radio and the bike looks awful. It fits snugly and neatly on the bike. The volume control is a nice feature and the USB charger is GREAT. I put the volume control on the clutch terminal and the USB charger on the plug terminal. The holes are perfect for factory screws. ONLY BACK. the hum you get from AMP when the bike is running. The radio sounds great but when I'm not using my USB charger with the phone I have plugged into it playing my music there is a bad hum/hum coming out of the speakers. I wrapped AMP in foil and was able to get rid of it a bit. But I placed the amp in front/under the gas tank and in the plugs and the sound is still audible. Until I plug it into a USB charger. I tried grounding the amp directly to both the battery and my fuse, but there was still a hum/hum when the bike was running. I use my phone and my app to listen to music. The thing sounds great on the track. Even applied a noise filter to the power supply and 3.5mm input and still got it. But I just plug the phone into the charger and it goes away. I recommend this product. I didn't give 5 stars just because of the hum/noise problem I get.
