Professional features at a prosumer price!

I'm a do-it-yourself auto repair shop/hobbyist and electronics engineer, so I've always gotten frustrated when I can't fully scan my cars. I have an innate need to know exactly how my electronic devices work and function (including my cars) so I finally decided to buy a decent scanner/encoder/programmer. I have used this on a 2016 Highlander, 2020 4Runner and 2010 F150. Each vehicle had different levels of electronic hardware and capabilities that were evident in topology scans, as well as different levels of functional testing and coding changes that you could perform on each vehicle. The topology scanning capability was the key factor that made me purchase this device and at this price point it was a wise choice. I can quickly scan topology errors and identify them as the right area to focus on. Then, with some functional testing, I can narrow down the correct area of the car's electrical circuit to pinpoint the problem. or locate a mechanical problem. The scanner is easy to use, but you need to have a solid understanding of modern engine systems, specifically how the various vehicle sensors, CANBUS, control modules and mechanics interact with each other to get the most out of this tool.

  • Good, but not great
