Solid entry-level food slicer

Nearly 1500 reviews so I don't think my stack will add much. I should note that I bought it on sale for $100 - not sure I would pay more for it. However, I will say a few things. First, it won't cut the tape thin. I suppose you can do many things described in other reviews but to be honest I think it's a waste of time and extra money. It's just not the same car. If you really want this kind of result, you have to think about spending more money. Check out the leftover meat at the deli counter - even their machines are having trouble. Well cut meat for cured meats is a combination of a quality machine and skills learned through practice. Second, see #5, but it's great for slicing meat for sandwiches or a hot pot. For a sandwich? Absolutely not, but for slicing so much meat, absolutely. I have not sliced cheese and don't think I ever will unless it is part of slicing many other things. Third, try a serrated blade before buying a blade everyone says is "essential" for thin slices. I've found that the standard blade works great for my purposes. Also, I'm not sure how a non-serrated blade would work with tomatoes. This will make the tomatoes as thin as you've always wanted. Fourth, it's been said elsewhere, but it's great for slicing veggies like onions, peppers, and tomatoes. Ideal for pizza or sandwiches. I'm very good with knives, and I can't even begin to understand what this thing is capable of. Fifth, it hurts to clean it. If you really care about keeping things clean, you won't like disassembling it to get it really clean. If you're okay with something a little less thorough, then that's fine. Fifth, if you use a subspecies of inferior meat (think round eyes) like I do for sandwiches, this is a nice addition to your kitchen. After all, it's bulky and really needs to be put in a closet. It's quite attractive, but I wouldn't leave it on the counter. Wow that was a lot. I'm sorry for that.

Cons
