Too thick, paint peeling off tailgate

Loved it at first, easy installation, no problem. But after a few weeks of lifting the tailgate on my 2021 Bronco Sport (BB) I noticed red paint remaining on the bumper guard. Deep enough that I was starting to see the metal underneath the paint. So I lost my money and lost a *potentially* good product. Too bad because he looked great. Just too fat.
