Yes. It Is Accually 14 AWG Multistrand Copper Wire

Good idea to have at least one of these for go to repairs. I have been using this extension cord to replace cords from duty appliances and other repairs. It works great. The wire is as described. The plastic covering is white to show grime and damage. The Plastic is flexible yet stiff enough to prevent kinking.
