I'm used to 5K iMac monitors, but I needed a second monitor for my office laptop. This monitor did not disappoint. While not exactly the quality of my 27-inch iMac 5K display, it's close enough to what I need it for. IPS displays are cheaper, but if you're staring at a screen all day, do your eyes a favor and get a quality display! Dell Ultrasharp monitors are excellent quality and MUCH easier on the eye than cheaper displays. Also, in my experience, Dell Ultrasharp monitors retain screen quality longer than cheaper versions which tend to degrade over time.
