Review on F103SX: Next-Gen Fumoto Valve with 12mm-1.25 Thread Size - Advanced Features for Easy Maintenance by Jason Cavett

Easy to install let's see

I installed the F103SX on my 5.8 liter Toyota Tundra during my last oil change. Passed through with no problems. I angled it a bit since the bolt hole is down at a 45 degree angle and I'm paranoid about a stick or road debris or whatever hitting the plug if it sticks out a bit. However, you can rotate the drain hole to any angle you want with this design, so it's a nice feature. I had to poke around on the Fumoto website to find the correct torque which is 15 ft lbs for this particular valve. My only concern is the durability of the rubber o-ring that seals the valve to the oil pan, so I'll check it at every (10,000) oil change to make sure it doesn't deteriorate over time. I also bought a hose set with adapters to ensure a good drain connection. Overall a great product. I would recommend this particular Tundra model over a larger nipple as the last thing you want is to lose all your oil if you fall on the freeway or hit a bucket (coincidental but it happened at the mountaineer mine last week Woman).

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket
