Ventilation work in building materials

Ordered 2 but only received 1. Contacted customer service and received the second one 2 days later. The RV style vent cover I replaced was identified as Cover 2 when installed. Instructions. The roof vent comes with a funnel that needs to be routed into the vent and then this assembly is placed onto the dwelling vent pipe. After doing a little research, I found an article that said the purpose of the funnel was to direct any rainwater entering the vent through the RV's vent pipe. The outside diameter of my RV vent was 1 7/8 inches, the same size as the top of the funnel and hence the inside diameter of the roof vent. I cut the RV vent tube and installed the vent tube with the funnel installed. The vent assembly rises above the factory vent cover (legs cut off per instructions). The installed funnel caused the Lippert's vent to protrude above the roof vent cover. Because the inner diameter of the Lippert deaerator was the same as that of the deaerator tube RV I. Dry installation of the deaerator on the tube without a funnel. The fit was snug as the underside of the Lippert's vent rested on top of the dwelling's vent cover. So I used some RV6000 Goop and glued a Lippert vent to an apartment building vent and sealed where the Lippert vent meets the factory RV vent cap. I haven't had any issues so far and the Lippert vents have stayed in place. The tank smell that led to the vent replacement is gone, so I think my modified setup is working.
