Every Mac I've purchased, I've also made sure to get palm rest and trackpad covers. The oil in our hands and grease from foods wears away at the beautiful finish of the MacBooks. The covers are super easy to install and you can even lift and adjust if you don't get it quite right the first time. Bubbles weren't an issue and any that were there can be easily pushed out to the edge and disappear. The small price is worth it to protect your investment. When using the covers I have found that I can easily increase the resell value of my MacBooks by $50-100 due to their great condition.
