Review on ASUS VP229HE: The Ultimate 21.5" HD Monitor with Adaptive Sync, Frameless Design, and Blue Light Filter by Max Higdem

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great monitor with one annoying bug.

I am one of those buyers who rate the product several times before buying it. Reviews usually have a strong influence on whether I buy or switch to a particular product. Well when I was looking for a monitor I came across several ASUS monitors that fit the budget and did what I wanted. The specs on this particular monitor were great. The info on this was a lot less specific than the larger model (23in?) which was the same model only slightly larger so it helped if you were looking for more specs. In general it was good for the money. its worth it. I bought this monitor for $129.99 with free shipping. The screen size is just right for me. Not too big, but big enough. The contrast is excellent. It's very, very bright, which looks great. It comes with a VGA cable which doesn't look as good as the HDMI cable. Note: I bought it from Revain for about $10 from Megabridge (recommended if you want to get the most out of your monitor). The LED screen makes the picture clear and it's great for watching HD movies via Netflix, playing games or watching some 3D videos. minuses. On the other hand, I would like to criticize two things: 1.) As you may have read in other reviews of this monitor, many complain about the monitor's stability, up to "staggering". ." Ok, the truth is loose. If you have a heavy desk that you can kick but it won't move, you probably won't have this problem. As the picture shows, I've come to terms with mine ASUS laptop and this monitor I have a small wooden table that moves slightly. The screen also shakes when typing

Pros
  • Extensive connectivity including HDMI (v1.4) and VGA ports
Cons
  • Bad brightness
