Well I've had this monitor for about three months now and so far I like it, but there are a few things that really annoy me about it. Color reproduction seems fantastic, black looks very dark and white very dark. well know. However, this only applies to the image setting called "sRGB", I found the Splendid video settings completely useless, as they either make contrast and brightness great, but make colors look wrong somehow, or vice versa. Now for the OSD, it works very well and navigation is fairly easy and convenient but feels very limited. For example, if I select the setting that gives me the most accurate color correction, which is "sRGB," pretty much every setting in the menu gets locked. Under "sRGB" it blocks brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness and "ASCR" (Acer Smart Contrast Ratio). I don't know how this will make you feel, but I can't take it now. Don't take that as the brightness is too low and the contrast is weak because it isn't. I actually sometimes find that the brightness is too low. can sometimes be a bit large, even in a well-lit room. There's now a default mode that unlocks these settings, but in default mode every color seems to be turned off because the white appears yellow for some weird reason. I can't even get them to look right by editing the RGB values and trust me I've been trying to eat them for hours. Another important thing to note is that the brightness and contrast controls seem a bit odd in the way they adjust each setting. I mean, brightness seems to control contrast at some level, and contrast seems to have some control over brightness. Now for the good: the monitor looks great, the viewing angles are good in my opinion, but when you move left and right the colors are slightly distorted, but the vertical viewing angles seem to be much better. I use this monitor as a secondary monitor and also for gaming on Xbox 360, it works very well for gaming although its display is only 5ms but the input lag is minimal and I haven't noticed or complained about it that far. If you have a set of 3.5mm compatible external speakers, you can use them with this monitor. The sound the output delivers is pretty decent but I find they lack good sound due to the bass but it works well enough. This reminds me of another complaint of mine, which is that the monitor's volume controls are hidden in the OSD, not really hidden, but you have to scroll down the menu to find them so they're not hard to find. If anyone wants to try the "default" video settings and, like me, is having problems with correct color rendering, try these settings. Default: Color: R: 65 G: 71 B: 100
