Review on πŸš— K&N Cold Air Intake Kit for 2003 FORD Crown Victoria - High Performance & Horsepower Increase - 50-State Legal - Model 57-2553 by Jeff Jordan

Notable improvement over the OEM Intake

When I installed this product on my 2003 Crown Victoria last weekend the performance increase on my car was very impressive. My car comes to life when I step on the accelerator, both in sound and movement. K&N promises a 10hp improvement and I have to say it feels like more. The installation took less than two hours, as promised. Only two steps of the instructions were a bit unclear: (1) Attaching the heat shield bracket to the inner fender upper attachment point (after removing the original airbox rubber bracket you have to use the supplied hardware, which was not clear from the instructions). instructions but somewhat clear on the installation diagram); and (2) attaching the new intake manifold to the new clamp (must close the bracket around the intake manifold before tightening the threaded clamp). Everything else was attached directly to the existing attachment points and was very easy to dismantle. The jury is out on why I bought this unit - fuel economy. My first drive to work this morning seemed to use less fuel than usual, but I don't have a two-week history to tell if I've made any improvements. Finally, this device is CARB-approved, so your car will pass the California emissions test without reinstallation. Factory air box. Just make sure you place the CARB Exclusion sticker under the hood of your vehicle.
