The size, thickness and strength of the stick was perfect for more than 950 people who will use it to roast hot dogs and marshmallows over an open fire. I liked how they were packaged and everything about them except only 200 of the 1200 I ordered came clean and didn't need to be washed and wiped down before use. The green dust, which didn't smell of mold or I would have thrown them away right away, covered almost all the chopsticks. I dubbed it "bamboo dust" and simply took the time and effort to clean the sticks before use. I've had no reports of anyone getting sick or reacting to the chopsticks, so I'm guessing it wasn't toxic or dangerous dust that had to be scraped off the chopsticks. The most confusing thing was that about 200 chopsticks were completely clean and I expected all the chopsticks to be the same. More than anything I would like to get an answer from the manufacturer, reseller or whatever as to what exactly the green dust on sticks is. and if so it was ok. I may be able to purchase and use thousands of these chopsticks each year, but in the future I will not bother to clean the chopsticks before use and will not purchase the product should the need arise.
