Review on πŸ”§ KYB 344396 Excel-G Gas Shock - Black/Silver by Gavin Hernandez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality at a great price.

Pros: My 1996 Ranger drives and handles much better than it has in many years. These shock absorbers are very affordable. KYB products have always worked well without breaking the bank. Bad: Absolutely nothing. Conclusion: No problem if you need replacement dampers for daily driving that deliver a similar performance as original parts. I am absolutely satisfied with their work. Yesterday I replaced the rear shock absorbers on my 1996 Ford Ranger. The right rear was completely blown out and didn't absorb any shocks. My factory left rear shock worked as it should. I replaced them both with these KYB shocks. The handling is a bit firmer, but much more controllable. The truck is fairly smooth cornering and significantly less prone to wheel hop (which probably killed the factory shock). I see this damper being used in many applications and I imagine it could be a little less aggressive in a heavier car. My Ranger has a 2.3 liter non-air-conditioned cab with opening windows and a manual transmission. It weighs 2,880 pounds, so those shocks add a slight touch of performance feel through the corners. These dampers helped breathe new life into an old workhorse. All light thumbs for KYB.
