I used this along with a rented Makita 4013 1 9/16" SDS Max rotary motor from Home Depot to drill a 1.75" diameter hole in the foundation of my house through a layer of very hard Bricks to be drilled with single layer solid concrete block just above the foundation. It took several minutes for the rotary drilling rig to be in the trench and drilling at a slight angle. All in all, it was an easy job—much easier than drilling the same spot with a Dewalt hammer drill and a 1/2-inch carbide drill bit. The bit still looked new with obvious scratches from the process.
