The 1.5mm thickness worked very well to bridge the gap between my Alienware 17R3 NVME SSD and the copper heatsink built into the case. As a result, after testing with transferring a large file (85GB), the temperature of the SSD dropped from 90°C to 82°C. At 90°C, file transfer slowed down due to throttling, but with the heatsink plate installed, file transfer became successful without throttling closed. I'm happy with the result. Although the heatsink plate isn't very sticky, it didn't matter in this application as it was sandwiched between the SSD and the computer case by the SSD mounting screw. I would buy it again for a similar application.
