Plays CDs and many other functions easily. Sound quality was good for the size and volume was excellent. Not sure I like pulling the cord to turn it on, but it works. I had no idea what boottime was until I checked the manual. The download time is for the alarm clock. It doesn't lay flat, but the stand attaches and detaches easily. Comes with power plug and audio cable. The sound quality isn't for music lovers, but it's comparable to any budget boombox. I was able to connect an external speaker to improve the sound. To fast forward or rewind during a CD track, press and hold the double arrow buttons.
