Poor quality check valves
It is difficult to ruin the pipes, this is normal. Good thing they gave 5 check valves as only ONE of them was ok when delivered. I came up with a trick: I inserted a small piece of wire from the big end and used it to break the soldered end. However, the airflow resistance varies greatly between the 5 check valves.
