Great little float valve but please do not match the stated size. . This is a .435" or 7/16" male thread and is the same size as the union nut. To be clear, all parts of this item fit together and work as advertised. It's simple, if you rely on a 1/4" NFPT connection to that male thread on the valve, it won't work. 1/4" NFPT is .540", not .435". So the 1/4" NFPT is too big and the threaded fitting on the float valve slides cleanly into the NFPT fitting but there are no threads. Hope this is clear and understandable. Hope this saves you some trouble. Similar to float valves are manufactured with 1/4" and 1/2" NMPT threaded connection.
