Great little float valve but please do not match the stated size. . This is a .435" or 7/16" male thread and is the same size as the union nut. To be clear, all parts of this item fit together and work as advertised. It's simple, if you rely on a 1/4" NFPT connection to that male thread on the valve, it won't work. 1/4" NFPT is .540", not .435". I have this device in my Mr. Valve at the top of the coffee maker's water tank. I was initially concerned about the lack of float adjustment, but that's a quick fix. The threaded portion of the valve assembly contains very coarse threads designed to grip the plastic of the float rather than thread or screw into the float.
