The thermometer is far away (around 20 degrees) and after contacting support (the response was quick and friendly) they admitted that the screen generates heat that affects the temperature reading. They have indicated that they have heard of this before and are considering removing the feature. I applaud your honesty. Also the plug that plugs into the wall failed (seems cheaply made) but I used the USB plug I had and now it works fine. Yes, the screen is very bright, but at night I turn it away from the bed. Love the all in one design that replaced the clock, lamp and USB charger on the bedside table. The holder is large and very handy for overnight accessories (my phone fits in). After purchasing a small adhesive digital thermometer that I attached to one side, I have this feature as well. Take a thermometer reading and make the screen dimmable (don't sell the filter - turn it on if that's the only solution) and that would be perfect.
