Review on BRCAF115 Cutler Hammer Circuit Breaker by Ken Reiff

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easily replaceable circuit breakers, load centers and fuses

Item as described: new, well packaged and an almost exact match to my existing circuit breakers. All my existing switches are 6 years old; This looked identical but appeared to be a little "slacker" to install than the existing breakers, possibly due to a slight manufacturing difference. In the end it didn't matter as the breaker was tight and worked perfectly. Installation was easy: 1) put on rubber gloves; 2) main power turned off (with the main switch - in my case the switch was in a panel on the outside wall of my house next to the electricity meter); 3) removed the electrical box cover to expose all the wires; 4) detected problem breaker; 5) unscrewed the mounting screws on the wires and disconnected the wires from the switch, noting their location; 6) removed the breaker from the support bracket; 7) took the new switch out of the box and unwound the white wire; 8) Connect the white wire to where the previous white wire was installed; 9) connected power cables; 10) Insert a new breaker into the latch holder; 11) Final check that the cable connections are tight; 12) Install the control box cover; 13) turned the main power back on.

Pros
  • Circuit breaker
Cons
  • Slightly torn
