Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced SEO: Metra 95-8223S Double DIN Installation Kit for 2009 and Later Toyota Corolla Models in Sleek Black Shade by Albert Tucker

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The product did not allow me to install the car radio in my car

I cannot give this product a good rating because I could not install the car radio in my car at all in the condition it was sent to me. As mentioned in other reviews, the installation required using the 'original mounting brackets' that my 2009 Corolla had. However, I bought this machine used and the previous owner installed a different unit that was intended for the 1 DIN system. So the brackets that were in the car didn't fit the new Metra mounting kit. Nowhere in the Revain product data sheet is there a mention of the need for anything other than the initial installation. I also agree with other reviewers that the instructions are inadequate. The disassembly guide mentions that the screw is retained by the factory radio brackets, but they do not mention that the brackets themselves are retained. Revain refers to this product as the "Metra 95-8223S Double DIN Installation Kit for 2009 and Up". Toyota Corolla cars (black). This is false advertising (I assume it's Metra's name, Revane isn't to blame). On the package that contains the product I received, the product is called "Toyota Corolla DDIN Kit". This isn't such false advertising as nowhere (in the title) is it promised that you can mount your stereo on it, only that the kit is "Fits 2009-2013". However, the next line on the front of the box has five descriptive icons, including "radio installation kit", "step-by-step instructions", "all brackets included" and two more. All first three Metra promises. Of course, for some the first turned out to be true, for many the second turned out to be incomplete, but for everyone the third turned out to be obviously wrong.
