Bought for a 12 year old child's birthday. It's so impressive! Now the base is just a plastic tube with a shiny paper insert, but the way it works is unique and very detailed. Some kaleidoscopes have wide viewing angles in mirrors, which can be a bit tedious. It has very small corners and you don't have to move it. Just sit back in your chair and watch it. The liquid in the two extra tubes does the rest. I am very happy with this purchase (can steal a few nights! Very relaxing and beautiful!) Definitely recommend!
