I like kitchen scissors, which allow me to cut meat and food - sometimes it's much easier. I tried them with chicken and they worked great. In addition, the notches in the middle are ideal for opening stubborn bottles. There's even a regular bottle opener on the back of one of the blades. I want them to fall apart like my other kitchen shears because I feel like it will make them cleaner that way. But I've put them in the washing machine and they've been fine - just try opening the blades up a bit if you can. I don't know the price yet so can't say if they're value for money but they're very useful and feel like they'll last a while.
