Review on Stainless Steel OGGI Cooking Grease Container - 4 Quart by Lisa Hedberg

I have wanted to buy a grease strainer for a long time. Since we don't use many canned foods at home, it's often difficult to find a good way to deal with the fat after frying ground beef or bacon. When I saw this stainless steel jar of Oggi lube, I knew it was exactly what I wanted. This product is made in China but looks very nice. The lid and strainer are the removable part of the container. The lid is hinged and can be opened very wide, making it easy to pour fat into the sieve. The mesh filter drains fat through numerous small holes in its bottom. The size of the entire jar is large enough to hold plenty of fat but small enough to be chilled easily. All parts of the jug are easy to clean. It is advertised as dishwasher safe, although hand washing is recommended. The beauty of this fat jar is that you can collect the fat to either reuse it for cooking or store it after it has hardened for later disposal. It's definitely better than clogging the sink pipe with grease. I ended up buying two cans of suet, one for bacon and one for ground beef.
