This probably saved my bacon (and my internal water system in my RV) on its second use. Visited a campground with 120psi water pressure which may be an issue for many RV's. I can't tell what would have happened if I hadn't installed this gauge and a restrictor (pressure limit at 55 psi) afterwards. However, without the restrictor, the water pressure entering my system would be 120psi, which was accurate on the gauge, but potential damage could occur. I would recommend either installing a pressure gauge end cap before connecting the hose to the van (so you know the pressure but it will bleed) or always connect it to a throttle valve. I'm not sure a pressure gauge will help you unless you have an easy way to restrict water flow if the pressure is too high!
