I bought this controller in order to connect the sound. FireStudio Mobile card. Bought, installed, started to connect. The drivers were installed immediately, but the sound. the card was not detected by the system at all, even as an unknown device. As a result, I scored on the connection, turned off everything, and the controller itself decided to leave it, you never know if it will ever be needed. As a result, literally a day passes, I watch . ether and then suddenly the computer turns off, the pilot blinked, although the light did not even dim, which usually happens when there is a power failure. The computer began to turn on in a second, the cooling system blades spun and I smelled it! Since the system is new, I immediately realized that nothing could just smell like that, so I immediately decided to check what was inside the system unit, and first of all, a new controller. And what do you think? I was right when I removed the controller from the motherboard and sniffed corny, I realized that the controller was the source of the smell! It turns out that if the motherboard did not have a short circuit protection system, my entire system could burn out ? !
I wanted to share some images to help paint a picture of my experience.
