I bought two of these for my two pools. Immediately one didn't work properly - changed battery, everything seems fine. Put them in my tanks. Then a few days ago I noticed that the temperature of my only reservoir was very low. So I turn off the heating. Still not up to temperature. Bought a second heater (bad luck? Maybe.). Still not up to temperature. So I finally came up with the idea of swapping the thermometers in each tank - actually it wasn't a heater, it was a thermometer. I opened it - and I see what I have in the picture. Corroded battery in a leaking thermometer. I'm glad I caught him before he killed one of my fish, but I'm disappointed. Another thermometer works very well! I can see the numbers, it's very reliable - one of my tanks has an adjustable heater that matches the thermometer. Now I don't have a thermometer anymore. Just disappointed.
