The quality is not the same for all devices

I bought two of these for my two pools. Immediately one didn't work properly - changed battery, everything seems fine. Put them in my tanks. Then a few days ago I noticed that the temperature of my only reservoir was very low. So I turn off the heating. Still not up to temperature. Bought a second heater (bad luck? Maybe.). Still not up to temperature. So I finally came up with the idea of swapping the thermometers in each tank - actually it wasn't a heater, it was a thermometer. I opened itโ€ฆ

Was happy now a month later I'm disappointed

Ok things have changed since my last review. Maybe I should have waited. I had it for about a month when the other day the temperature showed something very different than usual. I panicked because he said my tank was pretty cold and I thought my heater was broken. But when I touched the tank and compared it to the tank next to it, I felt the same way. So I took another thermometer to test it and apparently this thermometer is either broken or needs batteries. The difference was 8 degreesโ€ฆ

2 month update: 1st was extremely inaccurate. Failed to replace within 2 months

March 23rd, 2021 Update on my purchase of this thermometer: The first one was defective as it differed greatly in temperature readings. The seller immediately exchanged it for a new device. The new block worked fine for about a month - then the LED began to dim sharply. Checked for water inside (there was none) and replaced the battery with 2 different batteries - the display was still dark. If there is some moisture, let the device dry on a counter with the battery compartment open. Batteryโ€ฆ

Defective products - not waterproof, inaccurate readings

I bought 2 of these for my 10 gallon tanks on 4/21/21. Both have high quality heaters which I monitor closely to ensure they are working properly. The first failed, flickered, and then turned off. I replaced the battery and noticed water in the transparent portion of the edges around the LCD and the battery looked like it had a burn mark in one spot. There was also a part of it with water stains on the LCD screen. The second one in the other tank suddenly jumped to 86.8 degrees 5 days agoโ€ฆ

If the screen was front facing it would be easier to see

I bought this thermometer because my glass thermometer (which many pet stores sell) broke and this digital thermometer saved the day! I will never turn back. I bought two! One for my main tank and one for the quarantine tank. When using this product, please ensure the battery cover is screwed and closed tightly to prevent water from entering the device. The cup is positioned oddly as the thermometer screen is facing up. Being short, I couldn't see the display without rotating it at an oddโ€ฆ
