For the price ($170 including coupon and excluding taxes) I am very happy with the monitor. The build quality is excellent and the monitor looks and feels exquisite. The monitor comes with a range of useful accessories (USB-C to USB-C cable, USB-A to USB-C cable and power adapter, HDMI to mini-HDMI cable, screen protector and magnetic cover ). This accessory completes the port mix (2x USB-C, mini HDMI and 3.5mm audio jack). The monitor is very easy to use with other compatible devices (note: not all USB-C devices or cables will work, so do your research). The monitor is connected to both my Essential phone and a Dell XPS 13 (9360). I bought the monitor for use when traveling and am happy to report that I only need a compatible USB-C cable for both image transfer and power. When connecting to a desktop computer, I use an HDMI to mini HDMI cable for the image and a USB-A to USB-C cable to power the monitor. Finally, I come to the negative part of the review. I'm very skeptical about some of the characteristics of this monitor, particularly the brightness and color space. Compared to other displays I use, the Lepow has a cooler bluish color temperature. I calibrated it by eye only, but I suspect actual measurements of the monitor's color accuracy will give poor results. I'm also skeptical that the colors actually match the advertised 85% NTSC color gamut. Black is more of a dark, dark gray than black without monitor calibration, further degrading image quality. I don't think anyone would consider using a cheap portable monitor for professional graphics work, but if they do, you should definitely look elsewhere. My other monitors are advertised as 350 or 400 nits. The Lepow is rated lower at 320 nits. In my opinion, my other monitors could get a lot brighter, to the point where I'm skeptical of Lepow's claimed brightness. Again, Lepow is rated lower and my review isn't scientific at all, but I suspect it's not up to the advertised brightness. In practice, I think the monitor is well suited for use outside of very bright environments and is comparable to many laptops (I would use a Lepow monitor in the same lighting conditions as my XPS 13, for example). Aside from those color monitor issues, I'm quite happy with the picture quality. Viewing angles are within spec and as expected from an IPS panel. The matte display hardly reflects and the image is crisp. I can't say anything about the sound quality as I only used it briefly for this test. The sound quality is poor, although it matches the laptop speakers. You just don't get decent sound quality from portable monitors or laptop speakers. However, the speakers can work in a pinch. Overall, I decided to give this monitor 4 stars due to my skepticism about color gamut, color accuracy, and brightness. However, I have decided to give the monitor 5 stars anyway due to the overall cost of the overall package. Despite the negative ratings in my review, I am happy with my purchase and think the monitor is a great purchase for the price I paid.
