Well balanced price and features

I needed a portable external monitor for my Dell XPS 15 laptop. I compared several options but settled on Lepow. Mainly because of the good price (30% discount), connectivity (many ports) and design. I received my package in less than a week. I've only used it one day so far, but I ran a few tests: 1. My XPS laptop's default screen is 1920x1200. I duplicated it in Lepow and obviously I had black corners cut off. However, the connection worked very well and I only used a USB-C cable, no external power supply. If I also changed my laptop's display to 1920x1080, the Lepow screen would be fine, no more black corners. If you extend the screen, you can keep 1920x1200 on your laptop and use 1920x1080 on Lepow.2. Audio. When using a video editor, I moved the playback screen to Lepow. Everything worked very well and the video quality was ok. However, I later discovered that the automatic sound playback comes from the Lepow speakers and as many have pointed out, they aren't the most powerful. It was not easy to understand even ordinary language through them. Simple workaround, Win10 audio settings and default device selection as laptop. The Lepow settings only allow you to turn the sound on or off. You don't have to do this with the laptop settings and the audio works very well. Alternatively, you can always use external speakers or headphones. Devil! Lepow has no Bluetooth.3. Picture quality. I have to admit that the picture quality is better on the laptop and I will continue to use my main screen for photo editing. It's not just the colors, but also the quality. You can see the difference without any special tools. Again, that doesn't mean Lepov is bad. It's obviously not 4K, and for that kind of money I'm fine with that.4. I should mention the power cord as it is very short. Normal cable 1m. Works, but if you want to connect it to the wall network, you need an external extension cable.5. Lepow comes with a screen protector. However, mine was defective. It was a little wrinkled in one spot and didn't stick to the screen when put on. Also, you need to be very skillful to remove all the air bubbles. The screen is large (not a typical phone screen). In the end, I decided not to use a screen protector at all.6. The only thing that failed was connecting the iPhone 12 to Lepow. I did not have this special lighting adapter for HDMI. I tried iPhone backlight on USB-C, obviously it didn't work. I then had a Dell adapter with USB-C on one end and HDMI and USB-A on the other end. Failed again. I had to use external power (the short 1m cable) and then found Lepow doing a quick connection scan and then shutting down, no option to manually choose between USB-C and HDMI connection. For just one, I hooked up the monitor to my laptop and phone, then I was able to select the HDMI connection, but Lepow didn't recognize my Dell adapter. This is not a problem for me and I cannot confirm that it will work with every HDMI.7 lighting adapter. Although the Lepow has a variety of ports, be aware that they are small and feel very fragile. Make sure you know where to put your stuff.Cables.8. Terrain rotation works, but not automatically. I had to change the mode in the laptop's display settings. When testing, I suddenly found that Lepow was turned off. I thought it was some kind of bug BUT then I realized that while I rotated the screen and put it on the table, the power button was on the table. With my slight hand squeeze from the top screen, it turned off. Lesson learned: be careful when switching your monitor to landscape mode. And there's no way to use the other side since you're running USB-C over it. What surprised me was the extended warranty (12 + 30 months). Hopefully I won't need it, but it's good to have just in case. I've focused on some of the negatives here, but I still love this monitor and would recommend it. If any of my observations are a deal breaker for you, especially if you need to use it for professional photo editing, you can always try it and come back if Lepow doesn't work for you.
