The biggest design flaw.

At least when using a GoPro (Hero 7 in my case) this thing has serious design flaws. GoPro batteries need to be changed frequently, so the fact that you can use the gimbal to charge your devices was a huge bonus. Only when the GoPro is connected, all ports will be blocked so you cannot turn on the GoPro from the gimbal. The next problem is how to mount the GoPro. You have to loosen the screws (at least no screwdriver needed) to remove the U-shaped piece of plastic, then tighten to clamp the GoPro in place. This means that any battery change on the GoPro requires loosening the screws and removing the removed plastic tie. It's a chore considering how quickly GoPro's batteries drain. Quality wise it's a pretty good device and does a great job of keeping the skyline nice and straight (we do a lot of beach videos on our LookIntoHawaii YouTube channel). The only complaint I have about usage, which is minor, is that the GoPro sometimes hits the gimbal at certain angles (extreme angles, to be honest). I just don't understand why they didn't create a better clipping system for GoPros. Yes, yes, because they wanted a universal design. Maybe we'll 3D print a better mounting system for it and see if it works better.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not sure
