Review on High-Quality SUPERNIGHT 4 Pin LED Strip Light Connector Kit - Extension Wire, Solderless Connectors, Strip to Strip & Strip to Wire Connector, 90 Degree Connector by Matthew Hall

I used this product to connect the ends of LED strips together on the back of an open bookshelf. It turned out well in the end, but the process was difficult. I bought this kit for two reasons: firstly, it had a reasonably sized four-wire cable (10mm) and secondly, it was a solderless LED connection kit. The first part turned out great - the wire was the right size and worked well in the end. But the second part turned out to be TRASH. Solderless connections just didn't work with my LED strips. I used Govee interior lighting strips. These are fairly simple strips with a plain paper backing. The solderless clips have small metal tips that should puncture the strip on the back when you close the plastic latches. Here's the thing - NO. The lousy staples were so weak they couldn't even pierce a strip of paper! Annoyingly, the picture in the listing shows the clips using a pin connector that sits on top of the pins rather than punching them through from the bottom. With that in mind, I tried using the clips the other way around, ie with the spikes up so they actually make contact with the pads on the strips without piercing the paper, and it ALMOST worked. But no matter how hard I tried, the LED strips just slipped out of the solderless connectors. Contacts just didn't work. I ended up having to disassemble my soldering iron and solder the ends of the wires to the corresponding ends of the pad. When I did that, everything worked wonderfully. But the soldering is flimsy and with my tremors it was tough. All in all, the only good thing about this set was the wire. Everything else is garbage. If you're going to be soldering your connections anyway, you'd be better off looking for a wire that doesn't have any extra junk in it.
