Great for beginning learners

If you can get a working one of these, which luckily we got, it's pretty good. The volume is low and unadjustable, and the battery compartment opens easily, which I like, but can be a hazard for younger or disabled children. The cable seems a little short, but still usable. It would be difficult for a left-hander, but not impossible. A spare pin from an old board solves this problem. It's also a good drawing board. The electronic component can really challenge the beginner in letter recognition and writing. The voice is pleasant and clear in directions. There is a slot on the back to hold the stencils in place. Ours was snug enough to keep it in place but still light enough for my kid to gently take it out or put it back in. The board is wipeable for us and was easy and pleasant to clean. My child smiled while using this board and tried to write letters without looking miserable, which was a win for me. I sat there and explained how to use it. I also stayed to help with letter writing techniques. What went better for us than plain paper. My impression of this drawing board is that it serves as a great exercise bike for die-hard beginners and kids interested in adding a little more fun to their curriculum. We can snuggle up on the couch or in bed and do it together. or it can be used for long journeys in the car. We took him to grandmothers to show his progress. I also found the stamp tools useful for simple math. Overall we are happy with this purchase!
