Review on 6 Packs Professional Artist Acrylic Paint Brushes Set - 60 Pcs Nylon Hair For All Purpose Oil Watercolor Painting Kits. by Jeff Remol

Really bad. No points, frayed, and shedding.

I picked these up to have a bunch of cheap, disposable brushes for painting, assuming I'd wear the tips out quickly any time I wanted to poke or stipple something and then turn them into glue/crafts/trash brushes once that was done.Out of the 20 round brushes only 2 had points, which weren't very sharp and didn't last for more than an hour before hooking. The other 18 do not have usable points. Some of them are more like cylinders and not able to get any details in, but are relatively usable for putting thick lines of paint. Many of them were frayed quite badly, with bent and stray hairs, right out of the package. Some might be more usable if I take some time with a hobby knife to remove a bunch of the bent bristles. Most of the brushes are shedding right away. I rinsed them to try to get some of the initial shedding bristles out of there, but they're constantly dropping bristles into the paint on my palette.I've been using a few of the "best" ones, but it's been intensely frustrating and I think I'm just going to buy a different set and save myself the frustration. If you're just looking for some bulk brushes to use for things like glue, or give them to little kids, or something then these might be fine. If you're looking to paint anything, you'll have a pretty rough time. Brand new these feel like worn out brushes that would normally be moved to the chopping block.Maybe I got unlucky, but I really regret this purchase.I've seen some people recommend a particular $20 for 50 brush pack if you're looking for a bunch of the same shape/size, which I'll probably get. For $6 at hobby lobby you'd get 1 pack of usable brushes that wear out quickly, instead of 4 packs of these.

Pros
  • Painting, Drawing & Art Supplies
Cons
  • The brushes may not be suitable for wet-on-wet painting techniques
