Mech. This is SPE.PEM and you can use any type of water with it. I use RO in mine. It will charge and be ready to use. There is an orange cap that must be removed before use. There is water under the cap, so the purpose of the cap is to keep the membranes moist. Rinse the bottle, fill it up, leave some air at the top and turn it on. After my first cycle, my H2 was 1.4 and the ORP was -700. The same with the second cycle. Not that impressive, especially considering the price. I'll try this with bottled water to see if it affects the numbers at all and I'll update this tomorrow. And before you suggest using multiple cycles to increase those numbers, IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY! Is always. I don't know why all these sellers are offering this. It just drains the battery. So after 1 cycle it's as good as it gets. Never drink from this bottle. You get bacteria in him and he goes insane. Pour water into a glass and then drink it.
