Unresponsive, inaccurate, annoying.

Although easy to read and use, this is not a very good scale if you want consistency. I have this scale to measure soap ingredients; Oils, perfumes, water and alkali mainly. Yes. Alkali. An ingredient that requires careful handling in order not to make soap that irritates the skin. My recipe called for 5.1 ounces of lye to 10.2 ounces of water. and press Tare to reset the weight. So far, so good. I start pouring in lye crystals and the weight steadily increases until I stop when it reaches 5.11 ounces. No big deal, right? I just have to scoop a little and I'm fine, right? no I will scoop something. Without change. I'm leaving more Without change. I draw MORE. 5.04 oz. Good. I'm slowly adding what I've already taken back a little. It suddenly went back to 5.11 ounces before I put it all back in. I repeated this with similar results and mysteriously always found more lye crystals in my "removed" container than in the original container. I had a similar problem with oils and water. Also, picking up the container and putting it back down sometimes resulted in weight gain. So if you have recipes that don't require accurate measurements, then this scale is fine. But if you want accurate measurements, I recommend looking elsewhere.
