I use the laser as an aid for indoor exercises. I raise the laser about 2 feet off the ground and aim it at the ball to mark a line to the target. I practice drawing the line and then adjust the scope for launch. The laser line helps to feel the direction of the racquet surface and the direction of rotation. With the laser off you can better understand the face and direction and it works for me. The laser has a clear boundary, so if it's pointing down, there's little chance of the beam being flashed into your eyes. The tripod is small, standard 1/4 x 20 mounting bolts with small ball head, 2 extension legs, very functional for my use. As for the accuracy of construction work or wall marking work, you need to check it yourself.
